Free Speech Area Information
LASC has a designated Free Speech area, according to Article IX of LACCD Board Rules. This area is found immediately east of the Student Services Building.
Those wishing to use the LASC Free Speech area should complete an Acknowledgement Form for Use of the Free Speech Area form for each day the area is to be used. The purpose of the information on the form is not to have the college approve the content of your materials, but instead to simply ensure that the material being used or distributed does not violate existing LACCD rules. Those using our Free Speech area will be provided with a copy of the LACCD Freedom of Speech Policy. Visit the Office of Student Services in SSB 209 to complete the Acknowledgement Form for Use of the Free Speech Area form and to receive your pass for the Free Speech area and the LACCD Freedom of Speech Policy
Individuals should not wander outside of the Free Speech area. Persons found outside of the Free Speech area will be referred to the LASC Sheriff’s Office.
