Welcome to the Department of the Natural Sciences, Health and Physical Education
The department is located in the Academic Village (AV). Our primary goal is to provide access through this multicultural, international and intercultural community via a collegiate experience that promotes equity for all. The department's programs appeal to both the traditional and non-traditional student, offer equal opportunity for participation in all disciplines, provide comprehensive transfer and career programs, and maintain high enrollment and retention as well as high completion ratios.
We provide an environment of diversity to meet the specific needs of the South Los Angeles community we serve. We have an energetic and committed faculty and staff who inspire students to reach their goals. Necessary skills for student success in both academic and career segments of student education are provided in Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Physiology, Health, Physical Education, Physics, Geology and Geography disciplines
