Remote Access Databases
Show your current Student ID to Staff in the LASC Library Center and pick up your copy of passwords/ID for remote access to electronic databases. To access databases from off campus, students need to go to: www.lasc.edu then click on “Library” in the blue menu box, then click on “Electronic Resources” and select one of the databases below. These resources are for LASC students and faculty only; please do not share password information.

EBSCOhost Research Databases - Articles from a broad array of disciplines including nursing, social sciences, humanities, arts, education, computer science, science, speech topics, and more.
eBooks on EBSCOhost - Multidisciplinary collection of more than 15,000 e-books available 24/7 including business, history, current events, environment, and more.
History Reference Center - Offers full text from more than 1,620 reference books, encyclopedias, and non-fiction books; full text for more than 150 leading history periodicals; nearly 57,000 historical documents; more than 78,000 biographies of historical figures; more than 113,000 historical photos and maps; and more than 80 hours of historical video.

Ethnic Newswatch (1990 to present) - Includes journal, magazine, and newspaper articles from ethnic and minority presses including The Sentinel.
Africa Newstand - Latest news and developments from a variety of titles including the International Herald Tribune, Africa News Service, BBC Monitoring Africa, and more.

Gale Virtual Reference Library - E-reference books and encyclopedias that cover a broad array of disciplines including science, poetry, business, biographies, and literature.

Includes Contemporary Literary Criticism with biographical, critical, principal works, and further study information. Dictionary of Literary Biography provided.
