State-Of-The-Art Spaces In A Convenient Location!

Are you looking for an accessible location for your next meeting or conference with modern technology in a contemporary space? Los Angeles Southwest College’s recently renovated buildings, meeting spaces, and venue facilities offer you exceptional conference and event accommodations while being just minutes away from LAX and downtown Los Angeles, as well as the 105, 110, and 405 freeways.

LASC offers our spaces on a first-come, first-served basis, for both college applicants and public applicants. If you are with LASC and want to reserve a location for an LASC event, please go to “LASC Applicants: Event Request” below.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of continuing to work with outside entities’ that wish to rent facilities on our campus, Los Angeles Southwest College has developed a set of policies and guidelines for these types of rentals to move forward.

Rules/Regulations:

The requester will indemnify and hold the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) and the college harmless.

Requester and participants will adhere to Covid-19 guidelines set forth by State and Local government agencies.

Requester and participants will adhere to Los Angeles County’s “Safer at Home Order”. Violations will be considered a breach of contract under the lease.

Outdoor rental requests will be considered, pending additional information. Indoor rental requests will not be approved at this time.

Safety precautions must be taken. Masks must be worn at all times and safe distances must be adhered to. It will be the responsibility of the production to monitor/adhere to any safety precautions as determined by the company’s policies.

The requester will be required to provide all materials, equipment personnel, support, and resources necessary. The requester will also be required to provide portable toilet facilities. The requester will be responsible for any necessary clean up afterward.

District/College will not provide any materials, equipment (including but not limited to tables, chairs, etc.), personnel (security, lifeguards, etc.), support and/or resources.

The requester will be required to provide a list of all staff to LASC and the Sheriff’s Office for check-in upon entering campus.

Requester and participants will be restricted to the specific venue/area being rented.

Food services must be pre-packaged or boxed. No buffet-style service. While participants are eating, they must maintain social distancing (i.e. not sitting together in groups).

All filming requests must adhere to the guidelines established by SAG, DAG, IATSE and Teamsters.  See guidelines in the following document.

Please contact Jen Shetland with any additional questions at shetlaja@lasc.edu or 323-949-0702.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and since we cannot host events in person and on campus, LASC has purchased a subscription for Hopin, a virtual event platform.

To learn more about Hopin, visit Hopin's website.

LASC's Event Coordinator Jen Shetland will serve as the event organizer for Hopin. If you wish to host an event on Hopin, contact her at least four weeks prior to your event so you can begin discussing the details and building the event on the platform.

Hopin vs Zoom:

  • Zoom:  Zoom should be used for events that will include a few presenters and perhaps some breakout rooms.  Attendees should be 50 or less.
  • Hopin:  Hopin should be considered for events with many elements, including, but not limited to, opportunities for ticket sales, "booths," complex breakout rooms, etc.  Attendees should be 51 or more.

Hopin Features:

  • Events can be public or private
  • Registration
  • Ticket sales
  • Keynote speaker(s)
  • The ability to host multiple breakout rooms with varying degrees of access
  • "Frontstage" and "backstage" for presenters
  • Expo booths
  • Polling
  • Networking
  • Automated emails
  • Opportunities to promote sponsorships

Please contact Jen Shetland with any additional questions at shetlaja@lasc.edu or 323-949-0702.

Thank you for all you do to make LASC the place to be!

The Facilitron system is LASC’s online facility-use request service and is how LASC processes our facility use requests. If you submitted a paper application in the past, an account has now been created for you through the Facilitron system.  The only way the public can request the use of an LASC facility is by creating a Facilitron account and submitting your request online. LASC applicants can use Facilitron or submit a Facility Use Request Form. If you need any assistance setting up an account and/or in submitting a facility use request, please contact Facilitron directly at support@facilitron.com, or call them at 800-272-2962, Ext. 1.

We welcome external food and catering organizations on campus. If you plan to hire them, we ask you to provide a copy of their L.A. County Health Permit, if necessary. If you are planning to use food trucks, please first contact Pacific Dining, with whom the school has a contract, to see if they can accommodate your needs:
