Research Boot Camp

The LASC Library is holding a virtual research boot camp on Zoom. If you are writing a research paper for your English class, join the LASC Librarians at 5 pm on April 27th and learn everything about research from finding a topic to brainstorming, finding background information and scholarly sources, and citing your sources. Addressing AAPI Bigotry & Hate:

Open to all, this group will be a time to come together online to talk about the impact on our student population of the recent rise of violence and bigotry towards the Asian American & Pacific Islander population. Group facilitators will present the psychological effects of both recent events of violence towards the AAPI Community as well as the long-standing prejudice and will provide methods to cope with the increased stress and fear many are experiencing. Time will be provided for questions and discussion.

Media Matters
Annual Media Matters Project Scheduled For Spring

LASC's Behavioral and Social Sciences Department will host an ongoing Media Literacy Project to educate LASC students in methods to better access, analyze, evaluate, and create media. Its mission is to develop critical thinking in media consumers and engaged media justice advocates, teaching skills needed to interact fully in the 21st century media culture.
