LASC To Host COVID-19 Vaccination Drive

Posted on: 09/08/2021

Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC) will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on its campus in conjunction with Los Angeles City Fire Department in the middle of September. Thousands of community members have already been vaccinated at LASC this past summer.

The Los Angeles Fire Department's next COVID-19 mobile vaccination distribution site on LASC's campus will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, September 15-17, on the blacktop across from the Student Services Building.

Appointments should be made here. Participants should enter campus via the Western Avenue gate.

The mobile clinic will practice physical distancing and require attendees to wear face masks. Individuals who have had respiratory illnesses should stay home. Walk-ups are not accepted and attendees need to be in vehicles.

As soon as the COVID-19 pandemic began in earnest in March 2020, LASC has prioritized the safety and security of its students and employees, but also the community in which it calls home. In recent months, LASC has provided students with an equitable learning experience by offering easy online access to classes and services, supported employees with necessary certification and training, and looked to care for the surrounding community by hosting food and clothing giveaways, blood drives, COVID-19 testing centers, a voting center and more, all in a safe and secure environment.

“I’m proud of our college as well as our partners for their involvement in these important public health efforts," LASC President Dr. Seher Awan said. “Since the start of the pandemic, LASC has constantly looked at ways of being a resource and a true partner for our entire community."
