Scholarships & Financial Aid for Nursing Students

Financial Aid
You may qualify for financial aid, including a tuition-fee waiver and work-study funding through LASC’s Financial Aid office. There are also many scholarships (see below) you can apply for that are specifically for nursing students. And, you can look for employment as a student-aide at local healthcare agencies and organizations.
Scholarships
Scholarships are often an untapped source of financial aid with hundreds to thousands of dollars available to those who are chosen.
Below, we’ve listed some of the scholarships most relevant to nursing students. This is NOT an extensive list, so please do your own research on other scholarships that you qualify to apply for. If you have any questions, please contact the scholarship’s contact information first instead of the Nursing Department or Financial Aid Office.

Vicky Chang’s transformational gift of one-million dollars has changed the lives of nursing students at LASC.
Because of her generous donation, graduating nursing students receive $500 to take their NCLEX Board examination test preparation and test fees, allowing students to schedule their Board examination sooner, while the information is retained. The LASC’s NCLEX pass rate for the academic year 2018-2019 is 81.58%.
