LACCD awards students a grant to help with educational expenses

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) understands the uncertainty and hardship the coronavirus (COVID-19) health pandemic had on the LACCD student community. To provide relief during this unprecedented time, the LACCD is pleased to announce that students have been awarded a grant to help reduce your out-of-pocket educational expenses.

This grant funding is made available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, signed into law on March 11, 2021 and is intended for students whose lives have been impacted by the coronavirus.

The funds must be used for expenses related to the disruptions due to the coronavirus, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare expenses.

Students should be receiving these funds on or about Friday, October 1, or as soon as possible thereafter through Bank Mobile. The LACCD uses Bank Mobile (also known as BMTX) to disburse all student related grants and refunds.

If a student has not done so already, click on the following link for guidance to set up your Bank Mobile account and select refund preference – Setting Up Your Bank Mobile Account
