LASC Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

LASC is excited to share that we have officially begun our campus celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month! From September 15 through October 15, we come together to honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of our Hispanic and Latinx communities.

Our Hispanic Heritage Month Planning Committee has put together a wonderful schedule of events that highlight both the richness of tradition and the strength of community. Events include:

• Cultura Quest: A Hispanic Heritage Adventure - Tuesday, September 30, 2025, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm: Welcome Center - Get ready for a day of fun, mystery and exploration at the Cultural Quest: A Hispanic Heritage Adventure scavenger hunt.
• Latin Music Dance Party & Hispanic Heritage Trivia Game - Wednesday, October 1, 2025, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Student Services Building Lobby – Latin music, dancing and fun-filled trivia night to bring the community together and learn more about Hispanic Heritages 
• Art Exhibit Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month - Thursday, October 2, 2025, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm: LASC Library Art Gallery - Los Angeles Southwest College has been invited to participate in a Southern California–wide exhibition organized by Professor Erika Hirugami, MA, MAAB, Phil., Curatorial Director of FotoSoCal. 
• Cultura Y Calma: Toltec Yoga for Mind and Body - Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Cox Building Field facing Imperial Hwy - Celebrate heritage while nurturing holistic wellness. Loaner yoga mats will be provided on first come first serve basis. 
• Noche de Cine: Encanto - Friday, October 10, 2025, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm: LASC Outdoor Theatre - Join us at the LASC Amphitheatre Theatre (between the CDC and SSEC building facing Imperial Hwy) as we screen Disney’s Encanto. 
• Loteria Fiesta - Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm: Student Services Building Lobby - Please join us at the Student Services Building to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and Undocumented Student Action Week. There will be free food and prizes while supplies last, games, and activities!
