    Spring Semester Rentals Should Be Returned July 28

    Los Angeles Southwest College students who borrowed books, laptops, or any other items from LASC's Bookstore, Child Development Department, Library, or the Promise program during the 2020 Spring Semester are asked to return these rental items to campus from noon to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28. All four departments will be available to receive the returns at stations set up in Parking Lot 3. Vehicles should enter the campus via Western Avenue and then will be directed to the proper station.     Library Announces New Streaming Resources Available

    LASC's Library is excited to introduce two online streaming video resources. Kanopy is offering access to more than 30,000 documentaries and educational videos from a variety of producers such as PBS, Criterion Collection, Great Courses and more. Films on Demand covers dozens of subject areas including education, arts, business, sciences, and many more. Both include educational videos to enhance teaching and learning experiences and are available off-campus. Read Article

    LASC's Dream Resource Center in collaboration with Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) will be providing a "Getting Papers" workshop at noon on August 6 in which participants can learn about different immigration options.   • Careers For A Cause
    Careers For A Cause Info Sessions: July 9

    Careers for a Cause is an 8-week online pre-employment training program offered by Los Angeles Southwest College to prepare South L.A. residents to compete for careers in social services. Participants will receive a stipend and case management to support their participation in the training. Students should register for the upcoming virtual information sessions on Thursday, July 9, 2020. There will be a 9 a.m. info session and a 6 p.m. evening info session. Read Article
